There Is A New King In The Muscle Car Jungle Ready To Tear Up The Streets
Dodge is here to introduce the brand’s “Last Call” lineup, starting with the special-edition 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona vehicle. The name “King Daytona” comes from a drag racer named Willie “Big Willie” Robinson, nicknamed his 1969 Dodge Charger. He was known for being victorious on the drag strip and keeping other racers on the tracks and off the streets. The 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona is the fifth of seven special-edition “Last Call” models that honor the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger. Unfortunately, these cars are soon to be on their way out. Here is what the Dodge brand chief executive officer had to say:
“The special-edition Dodge Charger King Daytona honors a true icon of muscle car history. The final Dodge’ Last Call’ models will continue to celebrate the legacy of the Dodge Charger and Challenger by paying tribute to two vehicles that hold a special place in our brand’s history.” -Tim Kuniskis.
There will only be 300 of these specific models made based on the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody in a Go Mango exterior paint. This special edition vehicle has cool extra features such as Satin Black hood roof graphics, 20×11-inch Satin Carbon Warp speed wheels, orange six-piston Brembo brakes, a power sunroof, and so on much more. The King Daytona model and the six other special edition models will be located at select dealerships around the US.
This car is painted in a vibrant shade of Go Mango, and with this sharp color, no one could miss it zipping by. Another unique edition feature is matte-black designs on its hood, roof, rear spoiler, and rump with words written on the car saying, “King Daytona.” Dodge did a great job making sure the Go Mango color popped and showcased throughout the vehicle inside and outside. Not only is Dodge releasing seven “Last Call” special edition vehicles but also they are bringing back a few exterior colors: B5 Blue, Plum Crazy Purple, and Sublime Green.
The interior has black Nappa leather seats mixed with microsuede and orange stitching throughout the inside of the car, with the “Daytona” logo on the front seats and a “King Daytona” badge on the front seats and the dashboard. Not only are the seats microsuede, but also the steering wheel. The special edition model bumps the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody to 807 horsepower. All 2023 Dodge Charger and Challenger models will have a “Last Call” underhood plaque. The plaque includes the car’s name and a vehicle silhouette with “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” to show the car’s origin. Order books opened on September 21st for those interested in this vehicle.
