The Ram 1200 Pickup Truck Will Be Here Sooner Than We Expected
Ram Truck has exciting news about a new vehicle called the Ram 1200. There has been a sneak peek at this mysterious vehicle with released spy shots, and it will be a pickup truck. This vehicle will be debuted sometime at the end of 2023 as a 2024 model and will take on its name.
The new Ram vehicle will be first put on the South American market, showcasing the Ram 700 and Ram 1000. At this moment, it’s still up in the air if the Ram 1200 will be sold in North America. If the truck makes its way to the United States, it will compete against the Ford Maverick.
There will be two engine options for the Ram 1200 in South America and offer four-wheel-drive with both engine options that pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission. For the first engine option, it will be turbocharged and an improved form of the 2.0L Tigershark four-cylinder and gets 200 horsepower. The second engine will be a turbo-diesel 2.2L Multijet II inline-four with 203 horsepower. Ram 1200 trucks destined for North America will be assembled in Pernambuco, Brazil.
Ram Enters Into The EV World
Ram has recently debuted the 1500 Revolution BEV Concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which gives a glimpse into what to expect from this electric full-size pickup truck. This new model will be set in motion sometime in 2024 and compete against the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and the Tesla Cybertruck. Only some details have been revealed about this mysterious vehicle, but no matter what, the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV truck will have a range extender gas engine variation.
The CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares, said that the range-extender powertrain would also be offered to the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV. A range-extender is a gasoline or diesel engine that can become a generator to recharge an EV’s battery. The wait shouldn’t be long for more information on the Ram 1500 Revolution’s range-extender.
The Ram lineup is ready to show off its improved technology and is prepared to be the top competitor in their EV future. Some exterior features include a lit-up “R-A-M” badge, bright LED lights, a skid plate, large side-view mirrors with a digital camera, and much more. A charge port that offers Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging and a powered flexible tailgate.
As for the interior design, the new truck offers more space and cabin flexibility for the seats and has an added feature of third-row jump seats. There will be a touchscreen display that combines two screens, comes to 28 inches and has updated tech features. The rearview mirror is combined with technology to help improve its safety features, for example, a camera that shows 360-degree views, speakers, and voice assistants like Siri and Alexa. There is a flat top and bottom steering wheel with improved hand grips, controls, and a glass roof.
